A veteran management professional who has worked at executive levels within federal and state governments, Pamela Berkowsky is the President of Blue Sapphire Strategies,, LLC, a specialized public affairs and business advisory consultancy known for designing and executing successful strategies for its clients. She earned her B.A. magna cum laude at Princeton University, Pamela Berkowsky notably spent a year as an international relations studies-focused Fulbright Scholar at the Institut universitaire de hautes etudes internationales in Geneva. Ms. Berkowsky subsequently completed her Master’s degree in National Security Studies at The Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University.
Entering the Department of Defense in 1988, Pamela Berkowsky held senior positions in the Office of the Secretary of Defense until she was appointed as Special Assistant to the Under Secretary of the Navy in 1991. Over the next six years, she advised two consecutive Under Secretaries and also undertook a yearlong assignment with the Office of Vice President Al Gore. From 1997 to 2001, Ms. Berkowsky served as Assistant Chief of Staff to Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen, while also serving as the Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Civil Support.
